Assens Forsyning’s new administration building is a 2,021 m² office headquarters distributed across four floors, including a basement/lower ground floor. The building is constructed directly adjacent to the existing district heating plant and integrated with the boiler hall and chimney. The existing chimney has been incorporated into the new structure using an expansion joint, placing special demands on the interaction between the new and existing building elements.
The headquarters accommodates both administrative functions and educational activities, including the KredsLab school service, which focuses on sustainability and utility supply.
The primary load-bearing structure consists of Peikko DELTABEAM® Composite Beams and ATLANT® Composite Columns. The solution was chosen to achieve slim structures and low structural depth, providing flexibility in the layout and enabling open spaces.
To meet the architect’s vision of cantilevered façades, full-storey columns were used to support the cantilevered beams.
Peikko delivered DELTABEAM® Frame as the primary load-bearing structure. The system enables slim floor structures, efficient installation, and a flexible structural solution adapted to the project’s architectural and functional requirements.
