Green living rethink:

DGNB Gold-certified district in Kirchheim and TEBEA® Thermal Break Element

Under the motto "Sustainable. Stable in value. Future-proof," a green residential concept consisting of 6 buildings and a total of 117 residential units was created at the new local park for the 2024 State Garden Show. Thanks to its range of 1- to 5-room apartments, its location close to the city and its excellent infrastructure connections, the district appeals to a wide range of target groups and offers residential solutions for almost every need.

Focus on sustainability
The sustainable living concept impresses with its climate-neutral heat supply using geothermal energy via the district heating network and meets the requirements for an Efficiency House 55 in accordance with the Building Energy Act (GEG) with energy efficiency class A.

The proximity to nature also brings the green concept to life – whether through one of the many private gardens, (roof) terraces or loggias, or through the nearby park and Heimstettener See lake. The residential complex also offers various options for modern sharing concepts and e-mobility, proving itself to be a forward-looking mobility concept.

In addition, the ‘GRÜNER WOHNEN KIRCHHEIM’ project has been awarded the DGNB Gold Certificate by the German Sustainable Building Council as a sustainable district.

Future-proof architecture that retains its value
The concept of sustainability is reflected in the long-term architecture and high-quality construction. Clean lines, light-flooded rooms, numerous loggias and excellent thermal insulation create a pleasant atmosphere of well-being. Peikko's TEBEA® Thermal Break Elements make an invisible but clearly noticeable contribution to the building's energy management.

The TEBEA® PV-S, PV-W and ES types used serve as safe and load-bearing balcony connection elements to effectively connect the balcony and interior. At the same time, they ensure reliable thermal separation, minimise thermal bridges and increase the energy efficiency of the residential complex. In addition, the TEBEA® type N was used as a non-load-bearing element consisting solely of insulation. All types used comply with the requirements of the GEG and DIN 4108, Supplement 2.

The use of load-bearing thermal break elements saves heating energy. In addition, structural damage caused by condensation and mould formation at thermal bridges can be effectively and sustainably prevented, thus maintaining the long-term quality of the building.
